Roeslein Soccer (RSA, Inc.) is a US & International ID Program for High School age soccer players. John
Roeslein, Director of Missouri ODP Program and International Head Scout for Richmond's International Academic & Soccer
Academy, schedules games with High School sophmores and juniors against college teams in the Midwest area. In most cases
these games are against NAIA or NCAA Div. 2 or 3 Teams.
The purpose of this is two fold. First to expose college coaches to quality high
school players in a venue where they can actually evaluate a high school players abilities versus college players.
The second reason is to immulate what young players from 15 to 18, that are exceptional players, in other countries are doing.
In Europe younger players play in the professional clubs Academy Teams. The special players begin playing in the professional
teams against older professionals, which is something that RSA, Inc.'s Director John Roeslein strongly believes is the best
ways to advance a special young player to a higher level.
Working with the Missouri ODP program as
their Director and coach of the oldest ODP age group in Missouri he prepares his U16's by playing a monthly schedule against
College teams or Alumni players that have played at a high level in college. This process also offers college coaches
a tremendous opportunity and vision to see young college prospects compete against college players and gives them a clear
picture on whether the player they are looking to recruit is a quality prospect for their college team.
This process also helps Roeslein identify his next Missouri State
ODP Team and Missouri ODP/RIASA England team that will travel to England with him to play Professional Academy Teams from
the Enlish Premiership, Championship, 1st or 2nd Division Pro Teams.
During the trip to England the Missouri ODP players along with players from the Midwest Region known
as Region II are exposed to Roeslein's connection to the International game. Roeslein is the International Head Scout
for Richmond's International Academic & Soccer Academy (RIASA) in England. He is Responsible for the Midwest
Region and has a network of Regional Scouts that he works with to identify exceptional players that are recommend to
RIASA. RIASA is an exit route from the USA into International Soccer in England. RIASA has a partnership
with Richmond "The American International" University of London which offers the Academic component
of the program at RIASA. It is an opportunity to get a college education and play a full year schedule as they
do every where else in the world. RIASA plays a schedule against Premiership, Championship, 1st and 2nd division
Professional Teams. They also play in a couple of men’s leagues which gives every player in the program an opportunity
to play competitive games year round. RIASA offers a life changing experience and an opportunity to pursue a potential
professional career in soccer while under the protection of a college degree. There is nothing like it in the world.
Players in the RIASA program will be put in a playing environment where their is over 92 professional
teams in an area a little larger than Missouri. England has 94,524 square miles - Missouri has 69,709 square miles,
Illinois has 81,823 square miles. Imagine having 92 professional teams in the state of Missouri with each team having
10 or more scouts looking for talent. If you are an exceptional player - you will be found. And there are
92 teams plus many more semi pro teams vs. about 31 teams in our entire US.
RIASA is a satellite campus for Richmond in Headingly about
2 miles from Leeds. RSA, Inc. will travel to England again in 2012 with a squad of players identified as potential College
players and RIASA players. This also gives those bound to play US college soccer a taste of what it would be like in
to play in England. The Missouri RIASA England team is open to Missouri ODP players first and then opens to Regional
players in the Midwest Region as well as select quality Players.
Coach John Roeslein personally picks, travels, trains and coaches the team in England. Players
will also have training with the RIASA Coaching staff that uses this as a means of identifying talent for the RIASA program.
Coach Roeslein works closely with International RIASA Director Brian Haley and RIASA Coaching Director Mark Ellis. Roeslein
is the Missouri Olympic Development Program - Director and views RIASA as an exit route to England, the professional game
while still getting a college education. His process of playing 5 to 6 college games in the year gives college bound
soccer players the experience of seeing college campuses, learning about the admissions process to college and the experience
of seeing colleges in the US and Internationally.
Coach John Roeslein has coached 10 Missouri State Championship Teams, 1 Super Clubs Regional Champion,
1 Youth Regional Champion and 1 US National Championship Team. He holds a National "B" coaching license and
combines his playing, coaching and managing knowledge into a winning combination for every program he has been
involved with. He has coached at every age level from U10 Championship Teams to Men’s Championship Teams
including college aged players that went on to become professional players. Coach Roeslein has played on 5 US
National Championship Teams and Professionally in the American Soccer League (ASL). He was the Co-Rookie of the Year
in the ASL. He also played in England with Tranemere Rovers in the English Flood Light League a 3rd Division team -
now called the 1st Division.
Roeslein is the 95 Boys State Olympic Development (ODP) Team Coach.
He coaches, scouts, manages and selects players from the State of Missouri to compete with the Missouri State
ODP Team at the Region II ODP Championship Tournament. This Tournament is where our US Regional Players are
selected and an ODP Region II Champion is crowned.
The 93 had 9 players selected to the Regional Team that was 1 win and 2 draws in England in 2010.
Results: Missouri IASA England Team - 3 vs. Professional Academy Marcambe - 2. Missouri IASA England Team - 2
vs. Manchester City Academy - 2. Missouri IASA England Team - 2 vs. IASA Academy - 2.
His 94 team had 9 players selected
to the Region II ODP Holdover Pool Team. And his 94 team in England had 1 win vs the French Academy Team 4-2.
And a draw against Manchester City Academy 2-2.
Two players from Missouri's ODP Program are attending and playing at RIASA in England.
Both Joe Curti and Jackson Patillo from the Springfield Soccer Club are now attending and playing at RIASA in England.
Joe and Jackson were both coached by Mike Seabolt in club soccer who is the assistant coach at Missouri State University an
outstanding NCAA program.
Coach Roeslein is one of a few International Scouts recruited for Richmond's International
Academic & Soccer Academy (RIASA). The Academy is the first of its kind providing life changing
experiences for student athletes as they pursue an accredited American degree program while reaching their optimal playing
potential. Players chosen and going to RIASA will play an Academy schedule against Premiership, Championship, 1st and
2nd Division Teams in England along with a Men’s League schedule that can qualify them to play in England’s
FA Cup. RIASA soccer players will play a full season schedule from July till May. This will enable RIASA players
to take their skills to a higher level then in any other college program. For more information on RIASA click on below
